our modern industrial society places<br />
a high value on n<strong>at</strong>ural and engineering<br />
scientific questions. In order to<br />
find answers, <strong>the</strong> interrel<strong>at</strong>ions between<br />
<strong>the</strong> two fields must first be demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed<br />
using m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ical models. These<br />
models can <strong>the</strong>n be transl<strong>at</strong>ed into<br />
software and play a role in computersupported<br />
solutions. In addition to extensive<br />
knowledge of applied m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ics<br />
and software technology, this implement<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
requires a corresponding <strong>und</strong>erstanding<br />
of both n<strong>at</strong>ural and engineering<br />
sciences.<br />
This is where gradu<strong>at</strong>es of <strong>the</strong><br />
Scientific Programming Dual Degree<br />
Programme find <strong>the</strong>ir mission. With a<br />
broad range of knowledge of m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ics<br />
and computer science, as well<br />
as specific areas of n<strong>at</strong>ural science<br />
and technology, <strong>the</strong>y are able to apply<br />
m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ical modelling and algorithmic<br />
tre<strong>at</strong>ment of tasks within interdisciplinary<br />
teams: In short, <strong>the</strong> modelling,<br />
simul<strong>at</strong>ion, optimis<strong>at</strong>ion and visualis<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
of complex technical and economic<br />
processes.<br />
Students in this degree programme<br />
m<strong>at</strong>ricul<strong>at</strong>e <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>FH</strong> <strong>Aachen</strong> and <strong>at</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> same time receive an educ<strong>at</strong>ion as<br />
M<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ical-Technical Software Developer<br />

Centre, RWTH <strong>Aachen</strong> University or<br />
one of <strong>the</strong> cooper<strong>at</strong>ing companies in<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>Aachen</strong>-Jülich region. Through this<br />
bACHelorS deGree ProGrAmmeS<br />
combin<strong>at</strong>ion, students can apply <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
<strong>the</strong>oretical knowledge in realistic business<br />
contexts and time frames.<br />
With <strong>the</strong> double degree incorpor<strong>at</strong>ing<br />
study and training, gradu<strong>at</strong>es of<br />
<strong>the</strong> Scientific Programming Dual Degree<br />
Programme have good professional<br />
prospects in all of <strong>the</strong> industrial and<br />
business sectors where one finds <strong>the</strong><br />
interaction of m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ics and computer<br />
science. This encompasses large<br />
scale industry and software companies,<br />
insurance companies and banks, and<br />
even research institutes.<br />
Admission to <strong>the</strong> bachelors degree<br />
programme is only for those who<br />
possess signed articles of traineeship<br />
with a partner institution to become a<br />
