As shown in illustration 1, the flange of the sprocket is turnedoutward. To guarantee proper operation of the Gates Carbon Drive System, both sprocketsneed to be exactly aligned with each other (illustrations 2 and 3). The belt alignment cannotbe adjusted on the rear sprocket of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14. Therefore, you canonly adjust it with the position of the front sprocket. The included shim rings have beendesigned to facilitate this adjustment. For some bottom brackets it is possible to adjust thealignment with shim rings (illustration 4).
