Sustainability Report 2011Innovative ProductsWe aim to develop products that can meet the demandsof future generations in the framework of our managementapproach to protection of natural resources and ourunderstanding of quality. In this regard, we continuouslywork to improve our products and minimize their negativeimpacts on the environment and human health. 7 R&Dcenters with 800 qualified staff develop projects to createenvironment friendly products which offer highest efficiencywhile protecting the natural resources.Products manufactured by Arçelik A.fi. are tested in Arçeliklaboratories in compliance with energy labeling directivesand energy class defining performance test standards ofthe countries where these products will be sold.Through its vision championing the efficient use of naturalresources, consumer health and comfort and innovation,as a result of environment friendly product developmentperformance, Arçelik A.fi. has continued to deliver productscarrying the titles of “world's mosts and firsts” in 2011.In line with REACH regulations, Arçelik A.fi.ensures the registration and control of thechemicals being used and the chemical safetyduring transportation from producer toconsuming industries; and enables necessaryinformation flow and its accessibility forconsumers. Accordingly, Arçelik A.fi. fulfillsREACH regulation liabilities by producing newimprovement projects.49
