Theseactions are thoughtfully viewed through a life-cycle filter, asopposed to a single criterion approach.As a buyer/financer of forest products, we are committed to:• Building a business that is socially, environmentally andeconomically sustainable on a long-term basis• Sourcing/financing forest products that are derived fromforests that are managed to promote sustainable forestmanagement and/or from recycled sources• Encouraging recovery of recycled papers, and therebyfacilitating higher levels of recycled content paper• Sourcing/financing our products from suppliers that areworking towards continual improvement of their forestmanagement and production processes• Sourcing/financing our products based on a life-cycleapproach• Working with our stakeholders to ensure ourprocurement/financing strategy is socially andenvironmentally responsible, and economically viable2.0 Responsible FibreSourcing/Financing__________ cares about our forests and the productsmade from forests. It is our commitment and our challengeto know the sources of our supply and to work with oursuppliers/ clients to meet and/or exceed regulatoryrequirements for sustainable forest management.By [date] we will require all suppliers to provide traceabilityor chain of custody of their fibre back to the forest area oforigin.2.1 <strong>Sustainable</strong> <strong>Forest</strong> Management (SFM) 3rd-PartyCertification__________ will give preference to suppliers/borrowerswho meet and go beyond legal requirements for forestmanagement by seeking independent third-partycertification to recognised and credible SFM standards. Wealso support an inclusive approach to certification andrecognise the following standards:• X• X• XThere may be other SFM certification standards developedin the future that we may add to the above list. Wesupport mutual recognition efforts through independentassessments that include comprehensive review of therigorous and critical elements of the entire certificationprogram, such as xxxx.2.2 <strong>Forest</strong> & Biodiversity Conservation__________ values forest products suppliers/borrowersthat seek to conserve the ecological and cultural values offorests and the biological diversity they contain; maintainthe habitat of forest-dependent species; support theconservation of biodiversity; and collaborate withconservation organisations, government and others toensure the long-term sustainability of the resource.2.3 Illegal Logging/Legally Sourced__________ will not knowingly purchase/finance forestproducts that are illegally harvested.Page 79pwc
