38/50 TONE SETMost GME radios use the GME-50 CTCSStone set comprising 50 CTCSS tones.However some radios such as the GMETX610, TX630 and TX650 use a CCIR-38Tone Set comprising 38 tones.The TX6200 allows switching betweenthe GME-50 and CCIR-38 Tone Sets toprovide compatibility when these modelsare used together.NOTE: This setting is only available whenCTCSS is enabled on the radio.To toggle between the CCIR-38 andGME-50 tone sets:1. Turn the TX6200 OFF.2. Press and hold the SQL key whileturning the TX6200 ON.The display will show the selectedTone Set for 5 secondsi.e. CCIR -38 displays ‘CTC38’GME-50 displays ‘CTC50’Once selected, the setting remainsstored in the radio until toggled again.CTC38/CTC50Tone set compatibilityThe CTC50 tone set comprises all 38tones from the CTC38 tone set plus anadditional 12 tones. This means thatwhen switching from CTC50 to CTC38,some of the tones will not be available.If your selected CTC50 tone has anequivalent CTC38 tone, the selectedfrequency will be retained where possiblebut the displayed tone number maychange. Where the selected CTCSS tonedoesn’t exist, the CTCSS tone will be setto Off.
