It aims to facilitateinstitutional capacity building, knowledge management, and dissemination of bestadaptation practices in the region.• It is structured in such a way that it will cover the different parts of the <strong>Asia</strong>-<strong>Pacific</strong> regionthrough existing organizations. Activities in the region are being managed and coordinated bythe Regional Hub.• A major activity of the network is the Annual APAN Climate Change <strong>Adaptation</strong> Forum. Thethird forum will be held at Incheon, South Korea on 18-20 March 2013.Ms. Kodaka invited everyone to participate in the Forum, which will be another opportunity forknowledge sharing and networking. The theme is “Mainstreaming <strong>Adaptation</strong> into Development”. Sheenjoined interested participants to submit their paper abstracts (http://bit.ly/adaptforum2013) on anyof the following thematic focuses: adaptation strategies; critical and neglected groups; adaptation insectors and systems; and knowledge management for adaptation.University of the Philippines Los BañosInterdisciplinary Program on Climate ChangeDr. Maria Victoria EspaldonUPLB Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension and IdPCC Co-CoordinatorIn response to the different issues related to climate change, the IdPCC was formed to coordinateall the efforts of the university and to further develop strategies as climate change is part of UPLB’sgrowth areas. It is a university-wide multidisciplinary program that undertakes:• synthesis of R&D activities and research in priority areas related to climate change;• providing assistance to different government agencies in the development of their researchagenda;• implementation of information, education, and communication (IEC) activities;• conduct of capacity building activities for various sectors;• project development assistance; and• providing technical inputs to mainstream climate change and disaster risk reduction and indeveloping instructional materials in schools at different levels.International Conference on Climate Change Impactsand <strong>Adaptation</strong> for Food and Environmental SecurityConference Summary Report
