Allpotential future open pit sources areundergoing a rigorous re-evaluation.Cash operating costs for the year were$719 per ounce. This included thehigher cost, open cut production. In Mayand June, operating costs from GwaliaUnderground were $434 per ounce,indicating the potential for low costoperations once the mine reaches thedeeper, high grade section of the orebody.Development of the Hoover Declinewill be the focus in fiscal 2010 to gainaccess later in the year to the importantSouth West Branch lode that comprisesthe higher grade and thicker parts ofthe orebody.The total capital expenditure at theGwalia mine in 2009 was $102 million,while $55-60 million has been budgetedfor the 2010 fiscal year to furtheraccelerate underground developmentto reach the higher grade SouthWest Branch.OutlookThe Gwalia mine is forecast to achievean annual gold production rate of 95,000to 110,000 ounces for fiscal year 2010,reaching 190,000 to 210,000 ouncesof annual production by fiscal year 2012.The plant at Gwalia continues tooperate on a campaign basis, oneweek on, one week off. The Companyis assessing the potential to sourceore from third parties in the region.Higher plant utilisation offers thepotential to generate greater cashflow and profit and lower the unitcost of gold production.Tower Hill has underground reservesas at 30 June 2009 of 2.2 milliontonnes @ 4.7 g/t for 338,000 ounceswith an ore body that dips moderatelyat 35-50 degrees and has variableground conditions in the ultramafichanging wall. Detailed studies involvinga combination of open stoping, andcut and fill mining are currently beingundertaken. This mine engineeringevaluation work, including geotechnicalstudies, is planned to be completed bythe end of September 2009.
