The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Library Science (MLS), Master’s in Library Information Studies(MLIS), or closely related discipline. A second graduate degree in addition to the MLS/MLIS from an ALAaccreditedlibrary school is required for a position as Assistant Professor. Preference will be given tocandidates with experience teaching in an academic setting, and to those who have workedcollaboratively with faculty. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of trends and services inacademic libraries to support first year experience programs. Strong presentation and interpersonalskills (both verbal and written) are especially desired, as well as the ability to adapt to shifting needs andpriorities, with a strong commitment to public service.
