This lower pathcontinues on to the BoatHouse (visible just beyondthe Senior Room).22"New" Student Center OpensWhen entering the newly renovated Edith Pell Student Center, one has the feeling of entering a teenageversion of an old English Pub. The beautiful woodwork, including intimate wooden booths and a fireplace,create a warm atmosphere; students can enjoy relaxing or studying in the raised "coffeehouse" areawith built-in booths and fireplace. Other renovations include landscaping around the building, an open-airterrace behind and below the Center, and a "VI Form Room" for the use of the senior class. Jared Ravich'90, head of student activities, says, "The new Student Center is exciting; finally, we have a place to hidefrom the books." The project was funded through gifts from parents of students at the School.
