THE PRAGUE AMBULANCE SERVICEin <strong>155</strong> photographsThe Medical Rescue Service of the City of Prague, a regional emergency services organization, is an allowanceorganization managed by the City of Prague. This organization was established in 1857 under the name "PražskýDobrovolný Sbor Ochranný (Prague Volunteer Brigade".The emergency response dispatch recei<strong>ve</strong>s approximately 300,000 calls annually to the '<strong>155</strong>' emergency numberfrom throughout the Prague region. The emergency response squads operate out of 22 paramedic stations and, ona<strong>ve</strong>rage, they respond to about 300 incidents per day. The number of these calls totals roughly 100,000 per year andthey provide emergency care to almost 80,000 patients.153
