Introduction<br />
We have audited whether the ac<strong>com</strong>panying abbreviated financial statements of The<br />
<strong>Rompetrol</strong> Group N. V., for the year 31 December <strong>2009</strong> have been derived consistently from<br />
the audited financial statements of The <strong>Rompetrol</strong> Group N.V., for the year 31 December<br />
<strong>2009</strong>. In our auditor's report dated 27 April 2010 we expressed an unqualified opinion on<br />
these financial statements. Management is responsible for the preparation of the abbreviated<br />
financial statements in accordance with the accounting policies as applied in the consolidated<br />
financial statements of The <strong>Rompetrol</strong> Group N.V. Our responsibility is to express an opinion<br />
on these abbreviated financial statements.<br />
Scope<br />
We conducted our audit in accordance with Dutch law. This law requires that we plan and<br />
perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance that the abbreviated financial statements<br />
have been derived consistently from the financial statements.<br />
We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a<br />
basis for our audit opinion.<br />
Opinion<br />
In our opinion, these abbreviated financial statements have been derived consistently, in all<br />
material respects, from the consolidated financial statements of The <strong>Rompetrol</strong> Group N. V. for<br />
the year ended 31 December <strong>2009</strong>.<br />
