Inventory <strong>of</strong> all road sides facilities <strong>for</strong> the public including educational,health, <strong>com</strong>munication facilities and road user based facilities such as tea shops,dhaba, vehicle service shops etc2. The data should be collected in sufficient detail. The data should be <strong>com</strong>piled andpresented in tabular as well as graphical <strong>for</strong>m. The inventory data would be storedin <strong>com</strong>puter files using simple utility packages, such as EXCEL.Pavement Investigation1. Pavement Compositioni. The data concerning the pavement <strong>com</strong>position may be already available withthe PWD. However, the <strong>consultant</strong>s shall make trial pits to ascertain thepavement <strong>com</strong>position. The test pit interval will be as per Para 4 below.ii. For each test pit, the following in<strong>for</strong>mation shall be recorded:• test pit reference (Identification number, location):• pavement <strong>com</strong>position (material type and thickness); and• subgrade type (textural classification) and condition (dry, wet)2. Road and Pavement Condition SurveysThe Consultant shall undertake a survey <strong>of</strong> the visual condition <strong>of</strong> the pavementand shoulders <strong>of</strong> the Project Highway and provide its report. The Consultantshould also report if distresses are observed in the pavement and shoulders. It willalso identify sections requiring reconstruction.3. Pavement Roughnessi. The roughness surveys shall be carried out using Bump Integrator or similarinstrument. The methodology <strong>for</strong> the surveys shall be as per the widely usedstandard practices.45
