3. The designed drainage system should show locations <strong>of</strong> turnouts/outfall points withdetails <strong>of</strong> outfall structures fitting into natural contours. A separate drawing sheetcovering every 5 km. stretch <strong>of</strong> road shall be prepared.4.12.8. Traffic Safety Designs, Road Furniture and Road MarkingsThe Consultants shall design suitable traffic safety features and road furnitureincluding traffic signals, signs, markings, overhead sign boards, crash barriers,delineators etc. The locations <strong>of</strong> these features shall be given in the reports andalso shown in the drawings.4.12.9. Arboriculture and LandscapingThe Consultants shall work out appropriate plan <strong>for</strong> planting <strong>of</strong> trees (specifyingtype <strong>of</strong> plantation), horticulture, floriculture on the surplus land <strong>of</strong> the right-<strong>of</strong>waywith a view to beautify the highway and making the environment along thehighway pleasing. The existing trees / plants shall be retained to the extentpossible.4.12.10. Toll Plaza1. The Consultants shall identify the possible toll plaza location(s) based on the dataand in<strong>for</strong>mation derived from the traffic studies and a study <strong>of</strong> the existingphysical features including the availability <strong>of</strong> land. The location <strong>of</strong> the toll plazashould be finalised in consultation with RSRDC.2. The Consultants shall design the toll plaza layout based on the consideration <strong>of</strong>traffic segregation, acceptable queue length and the average waiting time <strong>for</strong> thevehicle during the analysis period.3. The setting up, operation and administration costs <strong>for</strong> the proposed toll collectionsystem shall be worked out by the Consultants.4.12.11. Weighing Station, Parking Areas and Rest AreasThe <strong>consultant</strong> shall select suitable sites <strong>for</strong> weighing stations, parking areas andrest areas and prepare suitable separate designs in this regard. The <strong>com</strong>monfacilities like petrol pump, first-aid medical facilities, police <strong>of</strong>fice, restaurant,vehicle parking etc. should be included in the general layout <strong>for</strong> planning.Weighing stations can be located near toll plazas.4.12.12. Deleted4.12.13 Miscellaneous Works1. The Consultants shall make suitable designs and layout <strong>for</strong> miscellaneous worksincluding rest areas, bus bays, vehicle parking areas, tele<strong>com</strong>munication facilitiesetc. wherever appropriate.2. The Consultants shall prepare the detailed scheme and lay out plan <strong>for</strong> the worksmentioned in Para 1.3. The Consultants shall prepare detailed plan <strong>for</strong> the traffic management and safetyduring the construction period.4.13 Environment and Social Impact Assessment4.13.1 Environment Impact Assessment and Management Plan1. The Consultant shall undertake environment impact assessment <strong>of</strong> the ProjectHighway as per provisions <strong>of</strong> the Applicable Laws on environment protection andidentify a package <strong>of</strong> measures to reduce/eliminate the adverse impact identifiedduring the assessment.
