ANIMAL CONTROLThe Animal Control section of the Sheriff’s Officehas the responsibility of operating the Genesee CountyAnimal Shelter and enforcing laws pertaining to the treatment ofanimals.The Sheriff has been designated by the Genesee CountyLegislature to administer, supervise and operate the GeneseeCounty Animal Shelter, as well as, enforce any and all lawspertaining to domestic animals.Genesee Community College and theGenesee County Sheriff’s Office partneredtogether to offer students enrolled in theVeterinary Technology program anopportunity to assist the Volunteers at theShelter. Students are responsible for cleaning cages, feedinganimals, and working in the kennels.
