He turned into a feature filmdirector with Sayahnam, which won theIndira Gandhi National Award for bestdebut director. His other films Sthithi andSeelabathi also garnered a lot of accoladesin India and abroad.4 SANJEEV SIVAN5PREM SAGARSanjeev studied direction for four years atthe New York Film Academy. He prefersto be called a storyteller and is fascinatedwith unravelling of the myriad moods ofpeople and the “strangeness of being”through his films. His filmographyincludes Aparichitan, Gubban Moopan’sDream and Mannikan (Tamil). His recentdocumentary, Underground Inferno waslauded by the critics. He received theEmerging Master’s Award at the SeattleFilm Festival.FTII Gold medalist and son of legendaryfilm and television personality, RamanandSagar. Prem Sagar began his career,assisting his father in almost 25 filmsincluding Aarzoo, Ankhen, Geet,Charas and Bhagwat. He debuted as acinematographer with his father’s filmLalkaar and finally donned the director’scap with the Jeetendra and Hema Malinistarrer Hum Tere Ashiq Hain.
