THE NAVY LEAGUE OF CANADABY-LAWSARTICLE THREE - MEMBERS3.1 MEMBER CATEGORIES<strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong> may admit the following categories <strong>of</strong> members:.01 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSA Person <strong>of</strong> good character (other than a <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>League</strong> Officer, CIC Officer, Civilian or CadetInstructors) who supports the Purposes and Objects <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong>, may be enrolled as anIndividual Member. Individual Members influence the conduct <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong> through their vote atGeneral or Special Meetings <strong>of</strong> their Branch. Individual Membership is subject to the followingconditions:(a) Any eligible person may be an Individual Member <strong>of</strong> one Branch only.(b) <strong>The</strong> Individual Member must pay the annual fee, as set by the Branch.(c) Individual Members may attend General or Special Meetings <strong>of</strong> the Branch to which they belong,and they may vote at such meetings in prescribed circumstances.(d) Individual Members must be a minimum <strong>of</strong> nineteen (19) years <strong>of</strong> age to serve as an <strong>of</strong>ficer ordirector <strong>of</strong> the <strong>National</strong> Board, a Division or a Branch.(e) Individual Members may be subject to additional terms and conditions <strong>of</strong> membership whichmay be prescribed by the Board, Division or Branch from time to time..02 ASSOCIATE MEMBERSA Person <strong>of</strong> good character who supports the Purposes and Objects <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong> may beenrolled as an Associate Member <strong>of</strong> at the <strong>National</strong>, Division or Branch level upon payment <strong>of</strong> anannual fee set by the Board, the Division or Branch, as applicable. Associate Membership issubject to the following conditions:(a) Any eligible person may hold Associate Member status in <strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong>, and as many Divisionsand Branches as they wish.(b) <strong>The</strong> Associate Member must pay the annual fee as set at the <strong>National</strong>, Division or Branch level.(c) Not withstanding subpara (b), all active CIC Officers, <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>League</strong> Officers, Civilian or CadetInstructors <strong>of</strong> Corps are granted Associate Member status, and are not required to pay a fee.(d) Associate Members may attend General or Special Meetings but do not have the right to vote.(e) Associate Members at the <strong>National</strong> level may hold an Associate Life Membership upon meetingthe criteria set by the Board.(f) Associate Members may be subject to additional terms and conditions <strong>of</strong> such membershipwhich may, from time to time, be prescribed by the Board, the Division or Branch.NL(18)E – 7 Feb 2012 5
