THE NAVY LEAGUE OF CANADABY-LAWSthree or four consecutive terms may be elected President again after being out <strong>of</strong> the<strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> President for one year.5.7 DIVISION FIRST VICE-PRESIDENTOne or more Division Vice-Presidents shall be elected at each Annual General Meeting <strong>of</strong> aDivision to serve for a term <strong>of</strong> one year. If there are more than one, the First or Senior DivisionVice-President shall act or speak for the Division President in his or her absence. Division Vice-Presidents may serve a maximum <strong>of</strong> three consecutive terms.5.8 DIVISION SECRETARY<strong>The</strong> Division Secretary, or Secretary-Treasurer, shall perform the duties assigned to that <strong>of</strong>ficeby the Division Council, and, without limiting the generality <strong>of</strong> the foregoing, the Secretary shall:(a) Attend, act as recording secretary for, and maintain the minutes <strong>of</strong>, all meetings <strong>of</strong>the Division and the Division Council;(b)and,(c)Supervise the custody <strong>of</strong> all Division records, documents and correspondence;Maintain current lists <strong>of</strong>:(i)All Branches, Corps and members <strong>of</strong> the Division;(ii) All Warranted <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>League</strong> Cadet Officers and Cadet Instructors in theDivision and their dates <strong>of</strong> appointment;(iii) All Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps (Canadian Forces Cadet InstructorCadre) Officers and Civilian Instructors in the Division; and,(iv)All Honorary and Life Members <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>League</strong> residing within the Division.5.9 DIVISION TREASURER<strong>The</strong> Division Treasurer, or Secretary-Treasurer, who is elected at each Annual General Meeting,shall perform the duties assigned to that <strong>of</strong>fice by the Division Council, including:(a) Take charge <strong>of</strong>, be accountable for, and generally supervise, all funds, books <strong>of</strong>account, financial records, securities and property <strong>of</strong> the Division;(b) Ensure that an accurate account <strong>of</strong> all receipts and disbursements <strong>of</strong> Divisionfunds is maintained; and,(c) Annually, propose a budget for the following fiscal year, and, upon approval <strong>of</strong> thebudget, ensure that expenditures are monitored and kept in line with the approvedbudget.NL(18)E – 7 Feb 2012 24
