The role of <strong>the</strong> Work<strong>for</strong>ce Strategy GroupThe Work<strong>for</strong>ce Strategy group will oversee implementation of this strategy through:• Driving innovation in work<strong>for</strong>ce design around service development.• Ensuring integrated learning <strong>and</strong> development opportunities are developed <strong>and</strong> provided,to support <strong>the</strong> implementation of <strong>the</strong> strategy.• Managing an integrated approach to funding <strong>for</strong> learning <strong>and</strong> development <strong>and</strong> utilise allavailable funding streams.• Ensuring that pooled/aligned budgets <strong>for</strong> work<strong>for</strong>ce development are maximised through<strong>the</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Young</strong> People’s Trust arrangement.• In<strong>for</strong>ming <strong>and</strong> monitoring <strong>the</strong> actions of related subgroups.11. Our <strong>Children</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Young</strong> People’s Plan prioritiesIn 2009 <strong>the</strong> Trust published its <strong>Children</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Young</strong> People’s Plan <strong>for</strong> 2009-2012. This set out <strong>the</strong>high level priorities that will shape decisions about <strong>the</strong> use of resources locally including <strong>the</strong>work<strong>for</strong>ce.These are:Be healthy1. Every child <strong>and</strong> young person will be given <strong>the</strong> opportunity to have <strong>the</strong> healthiest possiblestart in life <strong>and</strong> be supported to make healthy lifestyle choices.2. We will support, challenge <strong>and</strong> empower parents <strong>and</strong> carers to give children <strong>and</strong> youngpeople <strong>the</strong> best start in life.Stay safe3. More of our children <strong>and</strong> young people will be kept safe from abuse, domestic violence,bullying <strong>and</strong> harassment.4. We will improve outcomes <strong>for</strong> key groups of children <strong>and</strong> young people, especially childrenin care <strong>and</strong> care leavers, <strong>and</strong> children <strong>and</strong> young people with complex needs <strong>and</strong>disabilities.Enjoy <strong>and</strong> achieve5. More of our children <strong>and</strong> young people will enjoy, actively engage with <strong>and</strong> achieve well atschool.6. We will support <strong>the</strong> trans<strong>for</strong>mation in educational attainment <strong>and</strong> outcomes <strong>for</strong> children,young people, families <strong>and</strong> communities by investing in new infra<strong>structure</strong> <strong>and</strong> schoolbuildings.Make a positive contribution7. Many more of our children <strong>and</strong> young people will engage in positive activities <strong>and</strong> fewer of<strong>the</strong>m will be involved in crime <strong>and</strong> anti-social behaviour.Achieve economic wellbeing8. Many more of our young people will successfully achieve <strong>the</strong> right skills <strong>and</strong> qualificationsneeded <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir future economic independence.9.
