At the age of 16, Kent undertook a solitary exploration of the African continent bymotorbike between Kenya and Cape Town that would in many ways define the course of his life.Back in Kenya after service in the British Army, Kent joined his parents in founding Abercrombie & Kent asa luxury safari operation. By 1967, the elder Kent retired and the younger son moved into turning A&K intothe internationally renowned luxury travel powerhouse that it is today.Together with Jorie Butler Kent, Geoffrey founded the Friends of Conservation, of which HRH The Princeof Wales is the Patron.In between these expeditions and forays, Geoffrey became a world-known polo player. Prior to that, he was acting CEO of the travelportfolio within IAC from December 2004.Previously, Khosrowshahi had served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IAC/InterActiveCorp since January 2002. In this capacity, he oversaw all financial matters of IAC, served in IAC’sOffice of the Chairman, and was directly involved in the expansion of IAC’s travel portfolio through variousacquisitions.Khosrowshahi was IAC’s Executive Vice President of operations and strategic planning from July 2000to January 2002. From August 1999 to July 2000, Khosrowshahi served as president of USA NetworksInteractive, a division of IAC. In this capacity he oversaw management, operations, and strategic planning ofthe interactive services division.Khosrowshahi joined IAC (then USA Networks) in 1998 as Vice President of strategic planning.
