They can be used to convert thepoint triggered ignitions to electronic or toreplace factory electronic ignitions with amore powerful system that eliminates thefactory RPM limiter and external module.Installation is very simple. On point triggeredignitions you remove your stock point plateand replace it with this Crane plate and rotor.On electronic ignition models, you removeyour factory ignition system, install amechanical spark advance mechanism (notincluded) and install the plate and rotorassembly.The HI system is a Hall cell triggeredsystem, which is not affected by RPMchanges, dirt, gasoline, water or any othercontaminants that might get into the ignitionhousing. It will operate from -40 to + 300degrees Fahrenheit.The HI system can switchprimary coil currents up to 7 amps. Since thecoil output energy is proportional to thesquare of the primary coil current, this meansthat, with the proper coil, the ignition energycould be increased about four times overstock.The HI-1 is a single module, singlecoil/DualFire system. The HI-2 is a dualmodule, dual-coil Single Fire system. Both ofthese systems can be used with any highquality coil with 2-3 Ohms of primaryresistance.
