9From Retired Directors, Staff and AlumniRoy BeevorRetired as Consultant in 1999Chris ChanNow Associate Director (Hong Kong)My congratulations to the Directors of Rider LevettBucknall on the occasion of their 50th anniversaryin Hong Kong.The “Levett” part of the firm that started life in asmall office in Causeway Bay, together with“Rider” and “Bucknall”, has now grown into aglobal organisation, encompassing many parts ofthe world.It seems light years away from when I joined, whatwas then, Levett and Bailey in 1980. Our mainoffice was in Tower Court in Hysan Avenue and wehad an overflow office in Ling Ying Building in YunPing Road, just around the corner. We wereapproximately one hundred strong, with fourpartners, Denis Levett, Edwin Lee, Albert Cheungand Eric Fung. I became a partner in 1981.There was a great team spirit and we seemed tospend more time in the office than out of it.I’m sure that same spirit is still there and I believethat Rider Levett Bucknall will maintain itsimpressive growth and quality of service well intothe future.I wish the Directors and Staff continued success inthe years to come.I am pleased to have been the Staff Club Chairmanfor the past few years and witnessed RLB’sdistinguished accomplishment not only indelivering quality services, but also exploring thetalent of RLBers in sports & music and advancingfresh graduate to professional quantity surveyorsthrough its comprehensive and structured trainingprogrammes.The number of new faces joining RLB keeps onincreasing every year to cope with our expandingoffices, and it is foreseeable that these newRLBers will become a formidable force of ourfuture success just like our old boys and girls did.A remarkable event, the RLB 50th AnniversaryStaff Dinner, was held on 18 May 2012. I believe allthe RLBers have enjoyed the celebratory event. Iwas particularly excited to see our previousDirectors, Mr. Edwin Lee and Mr. Alan Parry andall the RLBers meeting and catching up with eachother just like in a family reunion.I would like to thank for our Chairman, ManagingDirectors, Directors, committee members, PICs,helpers and all RLBers' support in organizing theactivities successfully.My warmest congratulations again to Rider LevettBucknall on its Jubilee Anniversary and I wouldlike to extend my best wishes for all its futureendeavours.
