These areas are withinNorth <strong>and</strong> West Devon.Project <strong>Aim</strong>sThe project aims to provide support to initiate <strong>and</strong> encourage community-led sports activities <strong>and</strong> toincrease active participation across all <strong>of</strong> Devon. The Well-being programme supports <strong>the</strong> workundertaken in North <strong>and</strong> West Devon. The <strong>objectives</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project are to:• initiate an increase in participation in more rural areas,• increase access to sporting <strong>and</strong> physical activity opportunities with greater focus onbuilding pathways to sport,• make improved links with o<strong>the</strong>r sports, health <strong>and</strong> well-being initiatives,• bring toge<strong>the</strong>r sports <strong>and</strong> activity providers in a collaborative <strong>and</strong> community-drivenapproach to participation.Background & RationaleSports <strong>and</strong> active recreation can have an important role in helping adults achieve <strong>the</strong> guidelinerecommendation to engage in moderate aerobic exercise for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
