User Interface (YUI) Library is a set of utilities and controls, written in JavaScript, forbuilding richly interactive web applications using techniques such as DOM scripting, DHTML andAJAX. The YUI Library also includes several core CSS resources. Some pieces of YUI, like theEvent Utility, operate under the hood and are simply there to make in-browser programmingeasier. Others, like the Calendar Control, comprise visual widgets that can be placed on yourpage with a default look-and-feel. YUI version 2.3.0 includes a new, cohesive, visual look andfeel, or skin.All components in the YUI Library have been released as open source under a liberal BSD licensethat permits both commercial and non-profit use.YUI supports the vast majority of browsers that are in general use. All YUI components work wellin all that browers designated as "A-Grade" browsers. A-grade support is the highest supportlevel. By taking full advantage of the powerful capabilities of modern web standards, the A-gradeexperience provides advanced functionality and visual fidelity.
