Definition of the conceptual modelThe MVC-WebFlow metamodel is defined by a set of primitives and by the rules for specifying theconnections among those primitives. The <strong>di</strong>agram resulting from the design phase represents theconceptual schema of the MVC application, that mainly consists of JSP pages (view components),actions (model components), and connections (controller definitions). The primitives of themodel are represented in Table 1. The developer has to create the <strong>di</strong>agram which specifies theflow of the application but has also to define the content of each single component, from JSPpages to Action units which are the most important elements of the model. Above we will see indetail what are this three components of the model and their roles.38
