FIMS Media SOA Framework Phase1 (Preliminary)The service shall implement the manageQueue operation to process queue commands. In case the service doesimplement a queue it shall respond with “Feature Not Supported” error code.A job queue may have a maximum size and when it is reached no more jobs will be accepted. A fault indicatingthe queue is full shall be thrown by the service when a client issues a new job request.6.2.6 Job Execution PriorityThe service should execute requests in the order of priority. The priority of a job is indicated in the requestmessage. Higher priority jobs take precedence over lower priority jobs. If needed (and supported by theservice) lower priority jobs should be temporarily paused to allow for the execution of higher priorities request.The framework defines level of priority for the request. The list of possible values for priority are: "low","medium", "high", "urgent" and "immediate".- A new job with "low" priority shall be allocated at the end of the queue.- A new job with "medium" priority shall be allocated to be executed before any "low" priority job but afterexisting "medium" priority jobs.- A new job with "high" priority shall be allocated to be executed before any "medium" and "low" priority jobbut after existing "high" priority jobs.- A new job with "urgent" priority shall be allocated to be executed before any "high", "medium" and "low"priority job but after existing "urgent" priority jobs.- A new job with "immediate" priority shall be executed as soon as the job request is received.If the service supports only one job execution at a time, and the job being executed has a lower priority thanthe new submitted job, the existing job shall be paused and the job with higher priority shall be started. Thepaused job shall be resumed when there are no higher priority jobs. If the service supports only single jobexecution at a time, and the job being executed has the same priority, the new job has to wait for completionof the job currently in execution.6.2.7 Events NotificationA service may issue notifications of events associated to requested jobs (e.g. job is at 50% of completion), tothe job queue (e.g. queue is full), service (e.g. service will enter in maintenance mode in one hour) or system(e.g. system is running out of disk space). Clients that want to receive those notifications should register withthe broker.Events notification can be used to monitor the performance of a service, to generate alarms and to detectsituations where a manual intervention is required to guarantee a service continuous operation.
