FamilyiIn the Quraan, there isa clear and repeatedcommandment for childrento be dutiful to their parents,in particular, to their mother.In Surat Luqman, Verse 14,Allah, the Almighty says:“We enjoined upon man tobe dutiful to his parents. Hismother bore him in weaknessupon weakness, and hisweaning lasted two years.(We, therefore, enjoinedupon him): “Give thanks toMe and to your parents. ToMe is your ultimate return.”And in Surat Al-Ahqaf, Verse15: “We have enjoined manto be kind to his parents. Inpain did his mother bearhim and in pain did she givebirth to him. The carrying ofthe child to his weaning is aperiod of thirty months……”Some of the Tafseer scientistsbrought to our attentionthat the ringing sound ofwords as “weakness uponweakness” and “bearinghim in pain and giving birthto him in pain”, almost,materializes the hard fatiguesexperienced by the motherwho does that willingly whileshe is satisfied and happyin all stages of pregnancy;especially in later days, inchildbirth, in breastfeeding,and in weaning, then theupbringing, whether for a sonor for a daughter. Mothersgive without limits and nonstop,of their blood andof their flesh, from the firstmoment in pregnancy.Embryology tells us that assoon as the mother’s egg cellis impregnate with a spermcell, it attaches itself to thewall of the uterus. At thatstage, it is equipped with aparticularly strange propertythat tears the uterine wall, sothat the blood flows to thiscell so it feeds on the naturalblood-borne elements.It is said that the cell ispermanently present in theuterine wall, thus ensuringthe role of the absorption.Mother eats, drinks, digests,and then sends the extractsof all to this cell that does notstop growing and developingand dividing.By: Dr. Wafa lahejThen comes the process ofthe delivery, which is knownto everybody, as a tediousprocess that may lead todeath. It is a process oflaceration and rupture ofthe membrane lining themother’s body.
