Thatgolden period of producingthis type of pottery extendedfrom the end of thethirteenth century to theearly fourteenth century AD.These tiles were designedusing the technology ofmetallic luster which werepart of archaeologicalinstinct as they hadreligious inscriptions andwere covering the walls ofmosques and cemeteries.They were also used inthe Mihrabs. As in the cityof Qachat, the city of Ar-Raqqah represented animportant center for theproduction of ceramics,since the end of the twelfthcentury AD. The potters inthat city developed thetechnology of metal luster,with maroon color that sets itapart from other technology.As for the Persian ceramic,it has been groupedtogether under the nameof Sultanabad, a modernIranian city, which in itssuburbs there is a large partof ceramic pieces that havebeen found and which forman important part of theGulbenkian Group.With regard to theOttoman art, it is situatedin a prominent place in theDepartment of the IslamicArt in Gulbenkian Group,because of the quality andthe quantity of items thatwere available to him. Some stagespoint at the developmentof colors and patterns, forthis type of ceramics, to theexistence of a clear impactof the Chinese porcelain.
