I beg toacknowledge receipt of your letter dated13 Oct. , 1968, and I have noted the contentscarefully. In the beginning you writeto say that you have written at least 3 lettersto me, but this is the first time I havereceived any letter from you. I do notknow how they are missing. Anyway, Ihave also received one letter fromShivananda, it is understood that you aretrying your best to secure a place in Hamburg,but still you have not been able tofind out. In the meantime, before this,Shivananda wrote me a letter that he hasalready opened a branch in Berlin. Andthis news was spread by me to others.Now it is understood that you havechanged your idea and you want to openour center in Hamburg. It is nice so far Iget information that Hamburg is verymore important than Berlin, but if youfind difficulty in locating a place fo r ourcenter in Hamburg, it is better go back toBerlin and take whatever place is available.To feel separation from the SpiritualMaster or Krishna is very good position.That means one who is in pure love withKrishna and His Representative, SpiritualMaster, he thinks always of Them. Andthis thinking process is Krishna consciousness.If we can think a! ways ofKrishna even in separation, that isKrishna Consciousness. And in the absoluteplatform, there is no difference ofseparation and meeting. The separation isalso meeting, rather in separation one relishesthe loving relationship more tasty.So don't be disappointed that you areseparated from me, I am also alwaysthinking of you how you are making progressthere. And I am always expectingyour letters that you have already opened acenter there, and you are working verynicely.So far Seattle is concerned, we haveopened here a branch about one monthpast, and it is well established. Peoplehave known it and students are corningfrom the university community, and takinginterest. I've gone to the universtiyand delivered lecture. And last Sunday weinitiated 3 devotees, and 2 or 3 are stillwaiting. So this branch is going nicely.And the kirtan party led by Tarnal andJayananda, they are also selling Back toGodhead daily, at least 50 to 75 copies,and collecting money also, average of 40or 50 dollars daily. So this branch is verynice. I hope I shall hear soon that you aredoing the same thing in Hamburg.In London, although they have notopened a banch, but they are doing Kirtanperformances daily, twice or thrice, andin the parks, schools, colleges, clubs, societyand private houses, so our propagandais not stopped. So even you have notfound out any place at Hamburg, youthree together you can chant HareKrishna, Kirtan in the same way as theyare doing in London and other cities. Weare more or less concerned for preaching.It does not matter even if we have got atemple, but ifthe preaching work goes onthat is a great satisfaction. I understandfrom Shivananda's letters that you are gettingengagements in Berlin, but I don'thear that you have got any engagement inHamburg. So please try to find out someengagement and perform kirtan . You arenow three. One can play mridanga andtwo can play cymbals and chant nicely,and so even you are not yet found a place,you can go on with your work, ask NewYo rk to send you magazines and go onwith Kirtan. So far your long letter, I amvery much pleased to have your long letter.I can see from your writing that youhave got capacity to write, this is a greathelp. Yo u can write articles for Back to
