IntroductionAQP(SA) and RPM-RS proposes to undertake an addendum to the approved Kwezi Shaft and K6 Shaft EMPsrespectively to include the construction and operation of additional ventilation shafts. The proposed ventilation shafts willbe situated on RPM-RS lease and mining licence areas on the Remaining Portion of Portion 1, Portion 3 and Portion 117of the farm Town and Townlands of Rustenburg 272 JQ and on the Remaining Portion of Portion 9 of the farm Waterval303 JQ.The ventilation shafts are required to be developed at the Kwezi Shaft, K6 Shaft and in close proximity to the KroondalOperations, to service the existing underground mine workings, in order to comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act(Act No. 29 of 1996).
