Bond.The Clerk advising that the Parish Council can have no property in the spring. It is Resolved that a licence <strong>to</strong>granted <strong>to</strong> Mr. Bond <strong>to</strong> take the overflow from the spring known as Have-a-Care Well, subject <strong>to</strong> the details beingapproved by the <strong>Forest</strong> Row Committee.<strong>Forest</strong> Row House refuseThe Clerk reports that he wrote <strong>to</strong> the Local Government Board on the 12th August, asking for a reply withreference <strong>to</strong> the removal of house refuse at <strong>Forest</strong> Row, and on 1st September he received a reply enclosing a copyof the report which the Medical Officer of Health of the East Grinstead Rural District made <strong>to</strong> the Rural DistrictCouncil and of correspondence that had passed with the Clerk of that Authority stating that the Local GovernmentBoard are communicating further with the Council on the matter.East Grinstead R.D.C. removal of soil from drainage workThe <strong>Forest</strong> Row Committee report that the surplus soil from the laying of the drain <strong>to</strong> the R.A.F. Golf Club househas been cleared up <strong>to</strong> the satisfaction of their representative.Repair of bridge near Water FarmMr. Freshfield reports that as the estimate obtained for repairing the bridge near Water Farm was larger thanappeared reasonable he had the work carried out by his own men at a much smaller cost, viz. £4.3.0. It is Resolvedthat Mr. Freshfield be thanked for his valuable services and that the cost of the work be paid out of the Protection& Improvement Fund.Underground telegraph line Aegen GillAn application is considered from the Postmaster General for permission <strong>to</strong> lay and maintain an undergroundtelephone line <strong>to</strong> Aegen Gill from the private road coming out of the S<strong>to</strong>ne House Estate <strong>to</strong> the north west of it,and it is Resolved that the application be approved and that the Clerk be and is herein authorised <strong>to</strong> sign thelicence.<strong>Forest</strong> tract blockedwith regard <strong>to</strong> Mr. Sylvanus Ridley’s complaint at the last meeting of a <strong>Forest</strong> track being blocked, the Clerk reportsthat on 13th August last he wrote <strong>to</strong> the Surveyor of the Uckfield R.D.C. on the matter and received a reply fromhim dated 15th August last, stating that the deposit of flints complained of was an error on the roadman’s part, tha<strong>to</strong>n discovering it he gave instructions <strong>to</strong> make a more convenient road and would endeavour <strong>to</strong> have the flints29<strong>Ashdown</strong> <strong>Forest</strong> <strong>His<strong>to</strong>rical</strong> <strong>Minute</strong> <strong>Book</strong>
