Topping up the coolantlevel1 2To gain access to the coolant fillercap, extract the cover after removingits fixing screws.Remove the coolant filler cap andtop up with the recommended coolant(see §6.3).Coolant filler cap3 46After topping up, carefully replace the previously removed parts.- 108 -
MAINTENANCE 6WARNING: Perform the topping up ofthe coolant when the engine is off andcold. Never attempt to remove the coolantfiller cap when the engine is hot, inorder to avoid the risk of burns. Thecooling system is under pressure!CAUTION: To top up the coolant leveland/or renew the coolant, use only theproduct specified in the table in section6.3. Do not mix nor dilute the coolantwith additives or different fluids. If thecoolant specified in section 6.3. is notavailable, use a coolant having technicalcharacteristics consistent with theprescribed product.CAUTION: Coolant can damage paintedand plastic parts. When you top up thecoolant level, be careful not to spill coolanton any part of the motorcycle. If youdo spill coolant on your motorcycle,immediately wipe it away using a cleancloth.WARNINGUnder certain conditions, ethylene glycolcontained in the coolant can becomeflammable. When it is lighted, it producesan invisible flame.Avoid spilling coolant on hot parts ofthe motorcycle, because the subsequentcombustion of ethylene glycolcould cause serious burns.WARNINGCoolant is a highly toxic fluid. Avoidingestion and contact with your skin oreyes. Keep coolant out of reach of childrenand domestic animals. In the eventof a coolant ingestion, immediately calla doctor and do not cause vomiting, inorder to avoid inhalation of coolant inlungs. If the coolant comes in touch withyour skin or eyes, immediately wash itaway with water.6- 109 -
