<strong>Tulane</strong> University<strong>Architecture</strong> <strong>Program</strong> <strong>Report</strong>September <strong>2013</strong>KUDZU is a combined interface to the online library catalogs <strong>of</strong> 16 Association <strong>of</strong> Southern ResearchLibraries (ASERL) libraries, connecting <strong>Tulane</strong> users to more than 30 million items. Loan requeststhrough this system receive priority processing and expedited delivery.LALINC (Louisiana Academic Library Information Network Consortium) provides faculty, and in somecases, graduate students, borrowing privileges from participating Louisiana academic libraries.TU/LU is the <strong>Tulane</strong> University/Loyola University Cooperative Borrowing <strong>Program</strong> between <strong>Tulane</strong>’sHoward-Tilton Memorial Library and the Monroe Library. The program allows students at the twoinstitutions to borrow from either library.Regional Repositories:<strong>Tulane</strong> faculty, staff and students benefit from physical access to numerous research repositorieslocated in the greater New Orleans metropolitan area. Many <strong>of</strong> these repositories house recordsassociated with architecture, urban planning and infrastructure.Amistad Research Center: Located in Tilton Hall on <strong>Tulane</strong> University’s uptown campus, the AmistadResearch Center is a private entity that began as the first archive documenting the modern civil rightsmovement. Today, Amistad retains the papers <strong>of</strong> African-American architects, artisans, artists, builders,business leaders, educators, lawyers, factory workers, farmers and musicians. Holdings are included in<strong>Tulane</strong>’s online catalog.Williams Research Center, The Historic New Orleans Collection: Located in the French Quarter, theWilliams Research Center provides scholars with access to its holdings related to the history <strong>of</strong> NewOrleans and the Gulf South region.The New Orleans Notarial Archives: A municipal agency that serves historical researchers andgenealogists by providing access to land, building and other contracts recorded in Orleans Parish.The New Orleans Public Library’s Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special Collections: Housed inthe Central Library <strong>of</strong> the New Orleans Public Library, the City Archives is a reference division whichcollects resources relating to the study <strong>of</strong> Louisiana and its citizens and to the city <strong>of</strong> New Orleans.Holdings include building permits, architectural drawings, historic photographs and films.The U.S. Army Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers Library: The New Orleans District Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers maintains anextensive aerial photography collection in contact print and film negative format, as well as scanneddigital photo files.The University <strong>of</strong> New Orleans (UNO)/Earl K. Long Library’s Louisiana and Special CollectionsDepartment: UNO’s special collections holdings include manuscripts, books, ephemera, periodicals andgovernment documents related to the history and culture <strong>of</strong> Louisiana.
