Registration is not completed untilthe posted Sailing Instructions and waiverhave been acknowledged with signature.Practice sailing is available duringregistration hours.A competitor’s briefing will takeplace at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, July20, at Regatta Headquarters.Race Schedule: Six races are scheduledin each fleet. The warning signalfor the first race will be at 10:00 a.m. onSaturday, July 20. Except when races aresailed back-to-back, the approximate timeof warning signals for subsequent raceswill be posted. No warning signal will bemade after Noon on Sunday, July 21, if atleast one race has been completed by thattime. In any case, no warning signal foreither class shall be made after 1:00 p.m.on Sunday, July 21.EligibilityThe regatta is open to boats of theMelges 17 and A Scow (NCASA) Classes.The skipper must be a family, regular,youth or life member of the ILYA at thetime of registration. Crew members becomemembers of the ILYA by virtue ofthe yacht’s completed registration. ILYAMember Club requirements apply. SeeILYA By-laws 12.22 and 12.23.SocialLunch and dinner tickets will beavailable at the registration table for competitorsand spectators. On Saturday evening,there will be a dinner served at thePYC.T Shirts, and other goods--TBDFeesFor Class Melges 17, the entry fee is$100.00 per boat (after July 6 add $20, oron site add $30).For Class A, the entry fee is $240.00per boat (after July 6 or on site add $48).Entry includes no lunches.Lunches and dinner tickets can bepurchased at registration. Entries shouldbe submitted on line or on an officialILYA Regatta Entry form and postmarkedor otherwise received by June 30, 2012.The Regatta Entry form, which includesthe Waiver of Liability and other pertinentinformation, may be found on-line or inScow Slants.A 50% youth-aged skipper discount isavailable to qualifying Melges 17 skippers(age 25 or under as of Jan. 1, <strong>2013</strong>). Entryis free ($1 processing fee) for qualifying AScow skippers (age 25 or under as of Jan.1, <strong>2013</strong>).Late fees apply to all entries.TrophiesIn Class Melges 17, keeper trophieswill be awarded to the skipper and crew ofthe top three finishing boats, and perpetualtrophies will be awarded to the Championskipper and crew.In Class A, trophies will be awardedto the skipper and crew of the top threefinishing boats.RisksSailing is an activity that has an inherentrisk of damage and injury. Competitorsin this event are participating entirelyat their own risk. See RRS 4, Decisionto Race. The race organizers (organizingauthority, race committee, protest committee,host club, sponsors, or any otherorganization or official) will not be responsiblefor damage to any boat or otherproperty or the injury to any competitor,including death, sustained as a result ofparticipation in this event. By participatingin this event, each competitor, or in thecase of minors, each competitor’s parentor guardian, agrees to release the race organizersfrom any and all liability associatedwith such competitor’s participationin this event to the fullest extent permittedby law.Rules1. Except as any of the following arealtered by the Sailing Instructions, the regattawill be governed by the rules as definedin The Racing Rules of Sailing, theprescriptions of the United States Sailing<strong>Association</strong>, the Rules and Bylaws of theILYA, and the following class scantlings:• The scantling rules of the Melges 17Class <strong>Association</strong>.• The scantling rules of the NationalClass A Scow <strong>Association</strong>.2. BOATING REGULATIONS of theState of Wisconsin will apply. Wisconsinstatutes require all boats to carry a CoastGuard approved PFD for each person onboard plus a throwable at all times. AllWisconsin boats must have registrationnumbers and tags forward of the mast.Media RightsCompetitors give absolute right andpermission for video footage or photographsof themselves or their boat generatedduring an ILYA event to be publishedin any media for press, editorial or advertisingpurposes.CoursesThe fleets will race on separate courses.The racing area will be on the navigablewaters of Pewaukee <strong>Lake</strong>.
