Continental breakfastwill be available.Race Schedule: Seven races are scheduled.The first race is scheduled for a 10:00a.m. warning signal on Friday, July 13. Exceptwhen races are sailed back to back, the approximatetime of the warning signal for subsequentraces will be posted. If two races arecompleted, no warning signal will be made after12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14. In any case,no warning signal will be made after 1:00 p.m.on Sunday, July 14.EligibilityThe regatta is open to boats of the E ScowClass. The skipper must be a family, regular,youth or life member of the ILYA at the time ofregistration. Crew members become membersof the ILYA by virtue of the yacht’s completedregistration. ILYA Member Club requirementsapply. See ILYA By-laws 12.22 and 12.23.SocialLunch and dinner tickets will be availableat registration for competitors and spectators.On Saturday evening there will be a dinnerserved at the PYC.T-shirts and other goods: TBDFeesClass E Invitational early entry: $128.00(after June 28 add $32).A 50% youth-aged skipper discount isavailable to qualifying skippers aged 25 or underas of January 1, <strong>2013</strong>.TrophiesTrophies will be awarded to the top 10skipper and crew. The champion skipper isawarded the Jule Hannaford Trophy, an ILYAperpetual trophy given each year in memory ofits namesake. Trophies will be presented followinghaul-out after the last race on Sunday.RisksSailing is an activity that has an inherentrisk of damage and injury. Competitors in thisevent are participating entirely at their ownrisk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers(organizing authority, race committee,protest committee, host club, sponsors, or anyother organization or official) will not be responsiblefor damage to any boat or other propertyor the injury to any competitor, includingdeath, sustained as a result of participation inthis event. By participating in this event, eachcompetitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’sparent or guardian, agrees to releasethe race organizers from any and all liabilityassociated with such competitor’s participationin this event to the fullest extent permitted bylaw.RulesThe regatta will be governed by the RacingRules of Sailing; the prescriptions of theUnited States Sailing <strong>Association</strong>; the Rulesand Bylaws of the ILYA; and the ScantlingRules and Bylaw Articles VI and VIII, parts 4,5 and 7 of the National Class E Scow <strong>Association</strong>;except as any of these are modified by theSailing Instructions.Measurement and weighing will not beconducted, but each entry is bound by the NationalClass E Scow <strong>Association</strong>’s scantlings,which include compliance with NCESA membershiprequirements and transom stickers requirementsas enacted by the Class in 2012.Crew changes are allowed during thisevent.All communication will be by VHF radio,hailer when required, and flag signals.The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply,except that Rule A2 is changed so that eachyacht’s total score will be the sum of her scoresfor all races.Two completed races shall constitute a regatta.The Turns Penalty shall apply, except thatRRS 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that onlyone turn, including one tack and one gybe, isrequired.Media RightsCompetitors give absolute right and permissionfor video footage or photographs ofthemselves or their boat generated during anILYA event to be published in any media forpress, editorial or advertising purposes.CoursesThe courses to be sailed will be describedin the Sailing Instructions. Eachboat will need to have a buoy, at least 20’ ofanchor line, and an anchor. Taxi service willbe provided prior to and immediately followingthe races. Mooring may also be availablefor those with private housing. NO overnightpier parking will be permitted.Spectator Fleet: Spectator/tender boatsare welcome. Gas is for sale at the Club.
