Historiansexamine and analyze stories of the sequence of humanevents, attempting to investigate patterns, causalrelationships, and the effects this has upon subsequenthuman events. George Santayana said:“Those who cannot remember the past arecondemned to repeat it.”This is why we study history.Why Study History at College of Alameda? The facultyand the program in history at College of Alameda arepart of a core group of innovative, motivating, andpassionate educators. Theneed for teachers in the state of California for elementary,middle, and high schools remains high and collegegraduates with a history degree will find themselveswell suited for opportunities to earn teaching credentialsin a variety of subjects.
