He and hiswife, and their obedient children, anticipatedin advance our every need, comfort, food and lodging with such devotedzeal that I felt ashamed. One evening while sitting around thesupper table Vishwanath found an eageraudience, as he had known Sant KirpalSingh Ji since he was a boy living inRam Gali Lane, Lahore. As a younguniversity student in 1936, he wouldoften visit the house of Sant Kirpal Singhin Lahore during the time when Master,as a disciple, was writing His magnumopus, Gurmat Siddhant. When GurrnalSiddhant was completed it was rend inpublic before Baba Sawan Singh and afterits over 1400 pages were carefullygone through by Him before a largepublic Satsang, (I interrupted, "Wereyou there?") Only after Vishwanathpressed further, did she shyly and tremulouslyreport seeing both Masters, Whowalked and talked with her on the innerplanes of Light. Then she ran from theroom! At high noon, the Master took leaveof Chandigarh. Twice thecaravan stopped briefly while hundredsof villagers surrounded the Master's carfor His holy darshan. At one place wherethe Master had stopped by the roadside,an army major speeding by in a jeepslammed on his brakes, leaped out, andran back on foot to where the Masterwas, to have His darshan. The Majorhad never before seen or heard of theMaster, but something beyond his knowledgedragged him into His company.Needless to say, Master's tall and noblefigure with His beautiful white beard, and deep-set, glistening, powerful eyesset behind a philosopher's brow, commandedimmediate attention and respect. In large crowds of similarly dressedPunjabis, He always stood out amongstothers. Invariably, even strangers questioned:"Who is this noble Saint?"KIKATPURThe next stop on the tour was a largefarming village called Kiratpur. SituatedSAT SANDESH
