Flattening of Files 11Chapter 3Flattening of Files3.1 OverviewThis section describes the flattening of data files for ODBC use. It is necessary to flatten some ofthe CPSI data files in order to transform them into a readable format for the ODBC driver.3.2 Flattening of FilesCPSI has created a utility program to carry out flattening of the ODBC files. Previously, CPSI hadone option to flatten all files simultaneously. However, since the number of files needing to beflattened has increased, CPSI now allows users to be able to choose to flatten files according tothree applications: A/R and Census, Inventory, AP and PO, and Business Office Tables.This function can be carried out daily by CRON, which flattens all ODBC files simultaneously, oryou can manually execute this function at any time via Special Functions using the path below.1.
