From the warehouse directly to
the oil sand
Stockkeeping is also in the hands of the hydraulics
specialist from Bremen, so allowing Terex O&K to
scale down its own supplies of hydraulic connecting
elements to zero and thereby cut costs. The
components required are arranged in trolleys by
HANSA-FLEX so they are ready to hand for the fi tters
at their individual workstations. Here the HDS
high-pressure hose lines are also included in the
deliveries.
The close cooperation between HANSA-FLEX and
Terex O&K is demonstrated every morning when
a work scheduling meeting is held at Terex O&K,
attended by managers from Job Planning, Procurement,
Design and Quality Assurance in order
to assess the level of progress at the installations
points and to determine action for ensuring work
continues swiftly. The members of the HANSA-FLEX
team are also present so are able to quickly respond

to every requirement of Terex O&K without wasting
time. The process will be optimised even further by
the changeover to an electronic ordering system in
2008. The paperless system will speed up the ordering
process as it no longer involves manual system
inputting, so ruling out incorrect delivery due to
data entry errors or misunderstandings.
With the works in works concept HANSA-FLEX of
course also provides backup to Terex’s customer
TEREX GMBH
service department, which supplies the spare parts
required for the mining excavators from Dortmund
that are used all over the world. Mining excavators
are the key links in the logistics chain for oil sand
extraction and therefore have to function without
interruption as far as possible. Terex O&K can now
off er fast help, with backup from HANSA-FLEX’s effi
cient warehouse in Dortmund.
