Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut
The quality of the resulting wines is impressive with great freshness, purity and fine
definition, clearly expressing each terroir.
Since we started working with Domaine Sigaut in 2005, the wines have won a loyal
following amongst serious wine drinkers and top restaurants, reflecting the hard work
which has gone into then vineyards and the cellar. Anne reported an excellent vintage
in 2010 with the grapes being picked slightly later than normal, at optimal levels of
ripeness. Volumes were lower than average with yields between 30 to 35hl/ha due to
cool weather during flowering but the quality of the resulting wines is impressive with
great freshness, purity and fine definition, clearly expressing each terroir.
Red price per case in bond
Morey St Denis 1er Cru Millandes £395.00
This is a very fine Morey 1er Cru with a lovely, bright and lifted bouquet of sweet red berry fruits,
wild herbs and hints of smoke and cedar. The palate is both lively and elegant, with a fluidity
and length which shows real class. Located just below the Clos de La Roche, this wine has
elegance and harmony. Drink from 2013.
Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Noirots £450.00
Plenty of dark, ripe fruits on the nose with notes of black cherries and damsons in the
background. The palate is soft textured and ripe but shows great definition and elegance with
delicate rose petal notes and a deft mineral note on the finish. This is an elegant and highly
seductive wine. Drink from 2014.
Chambolle Musginy 1er Cru Fuées £450.00
An energetic, expressive wines on the nose with bright, crunchy red berry fruit and some
attractive spicy cedar notes. Relatively restrained on the palate still but there is plenty of
attractive red cherry fruit balanced by soft, almost creamy, tannins. Drink from 2014.
Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Chatelots £450.00
A ripe and elegantly textured wine with brooding, dark red berry fruits on the nose, mingling with
lighter and sweeter redcurrant characters. The fruit on the palate is soft and attractive, and quite
dark, while on the finish there is a refined mineral note which gives it a sense of definition and
style. Drink from 2014.
Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Sentiers £480.00
This wine always stand out from the crowd, partly because the vines are very old having been
planted in the 1930s. The bouquet has an almost ethereal quality with very delicate and pure
redcurrant notes and a seductive, tropical violet character, mingled with lighter touches of rose
petals and wild flowers. Behind this there is darker richer quality which also expresses itself on
the palate but there a delicate floral character here too which combines with refreshing acidity
giving great elegance. Drink from 2016.
Domaine Taupenot Merme
Romain Taupenot has transformed his family Domaine over the last few years into
one of the best up and coming estates on the Côte…
…and his 2010s will undoubtedly attract further acclaim. Romain described the vintage
as one he “really enjoyed making”, citing the balance of aromatics, fruit, acidity and fine
tannins as a challenge he relished. Grapes were fully de-stemmed before vinification
and pressed only lightly to avoid over-extraction, the small, thick skinned berries being
naturally rich in colour and tannin. Romain uses oak judiciously and the majority of the
2010s saw time in only older barrels to allow the purity of the vintage to shine through.
Red price per case in bond
Gevrey Chambertin £295.00
A wine with lovely, lifted aromatics. Sweet purple berry notes mingle with cloves and cracked
pepper spice notes. The palate is full of raspberry and blueberry fruit flavours with fine, rounded
tannins. This wine will be delicious over the next few years. Drink from release.
Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Belair £470.00
A fine, elegant style with sweet damson and plum characters on the nose with a fine mineral
note in the background and a hint of savoury and lavender. The palate is very refined with a pure
and refreshing fruit character. Drink from 2014.
