CURINGPatchfix Render Fine does require curing. In hot, dry windycondition all cementitious-based mortars must be protectedagainst excessive rapid surface drying and evaporation.Patchfix Render Fine must be cured immediately afterfinishing in accordance with good concrete practice. Theuse of Bostik Bond 'N' Cure sprayed, brushed or rolled ontothe surface of the finished Patchfix Concrete in acontinuous film, is recommended. The Bostik Bond 'N'Cure should be applied at coverage of 4-5m 2 per litre andshould be applied immediately after final trowel. In veryextreme temperatures and drying conditions,supplementary curing with polythene sheeting, taped downat the edges, may be required. Large areas should becured as trowelling progresses (0.5m 2 at a time) withoutwaiting for completion of the entire area.APPLICATION OF COATINGPatchfix Render Fine, when cured, has good resistance towater. However, if areas are subject to continuous waterimmersion or chemical attack from solvents or organicacids etc., Patchfix Render Fine should be protected usingBostik’s range of coatings such as Guardcote WB,Epoxycote WB or Paveseal SB depending on aesthetic andperformance requirements.The required epoxy, or acrylic coating will act as a sealerand dust proofer which may be easily cleaned and isresistant to a range of oil and chemicals depending on thechoice of coating. To ensure a long lasting highly protectivecoating, it is recommended that two coats be applied. Thefirst coat should be applied 12-24 hours after theplacement of Patchfix Render Fine. The second coat maybe applied the following day in accordance with theselected coating’s application instructions.PRECAUTIONS• Patchfix Render Fine should not be used when thetemperature is below 5°C and greater than 35°C.• For concrete substrates subject to rising damp ormoisture, a moisture barrier is required use BostikMoisture Seal. Where a substrate is subjected to totalimmersion it is recommended that Bostik TechflowEpoxy Grout be used as a primer. (Contact Bostik forTechnical Data Sheet)• New concrete surfaces must be at least 14 days oldprior to application of Patchfix Render Fine• To avoid rapid drying protect Patchfix Render Finefrom direct sunlight or drying winds during actualapplication, and while curing for up to 24 hours.• If the substrate onto which Patchfix Render Fine isapplied moves or cracks, reflective cracking will occurin the Patchfix Render Fine.• Not intended as a horizontal trafficable-wearingsurface. (Refer to Bostik Office for the Patchfix orUltralevel range of product best suited to trafficableapplications).P.A.T.S (Pretested Adhesion To Substrate)ProgrammeBostik offer a service in which a program has beenestablished to eliminate potential field problems by pretestingBostik adhesives with samples of building materialsto which the adhesive will be applied. This service isavailable on large projects where pre-application testingwill aid in determining the proper surface preparationmethod to achieve optimum adhesion.
