When cured it will form a tough,flexible seal capable cyclic expansion and compressionmovement of 50% (± 25%) of the original joint width.<strong>Bostik</strong> Seal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong> is resistant to normalweathering conditions such as rain, sunlight, snow, sleet,ultra-violet radiation, ozone, atmospheric contaminationand pollution. Dustand loose particles should be blown out of joints with oilfree compressed air or vacuum cleaned. Non-poroussurfaces may require preparation / priming, refer primerselection section. Cleaning solvents should not beallowed to air dry or evaporate without being wiped with aclean, dry cloth.PRIMINGSeal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong> will adhere without priming to manysurfaces such as concrete, wood, stone, enameledsubstrates, GRP, anodized aluminium etc.On certain surfaces, however, the use of a primer may benecessary before sealant application, e.g. absorbentsurfaces such as cellular concrete, mild steel anduntreated aluminium. JOINT <strong>SEAL</strong>ING HINTS• Prime prior to the installation of the backing rod• Always use backing rod for correct sealantgeometry• Ensure maximum adhesion to bond face and depthto width ratio of 1:1 to 12mm and 2:1 from 12mm to20mm.MIXINGNo mixing is required for <strong>Bostik</strong> Seal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong>.Simply use directly from sausage.CLEAN-UPClean up uncured material and equipment immediatelyafter use using <strong>Bostik</strong> 9907 solvent. Do not use solventson skins.PACKAGING<strong>Bostik</strong> Seal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong> is supplied in 600ml sausages.Available in grey, white and black colour.COVERAGEPAINTABILITY<strong>Bostik</strong> Seal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong> is paintable after fully cured.Coatings containing solvents such as enamels, oil basedor other coatings may cause the surface of the sealant toreact creating a tacky surface. A field test isrecommended to ensure compatibility of the coating with<strong>Bostik</strong> Seal ‘N’ Flex <strong>2638</strong>.HEALTH AND SAFETYOn contact, uncured sealant causes irritation. Gloves andprotective goggles must be worn during application anduse.• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and avoid breathing invapour.• Wear protective gloves when mixing or using.• If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor.• If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.
