President's MessageChandrashekar R. BelchadaDear Members,This is the 71st progressive year of Thiya Samaj Mumbai. In this 71 years our Samajhave crossed many landmarks and I feel proud to say it. But I feel low when I see theactive participation of our Youth members are very less in setting those landmarks. Wehave to still achieve many more landmarks and without the support and participation ofyouth I think the process will be slow. Our youth are surrounded by adult support. I want to create a team where youth areencouraged to engaged and allowed to adapt and overcome adverities. By developingpositive relationship with seniors where youth will value needs of our society and will comeup with new ideas.I want the young people to develop and involve in the core working of Thiya Samaj. Our Samaj would foster leadership skills and positive development and relationshipbetween people, young and old. Involving youth in community affairs can forge newbonds between seniors and like minded members, and this in turn will help to solve manyof our community upcoming challenges. Through community involvement, youth canincrease their understanding toward community and can become empowered to worktoward organizing upcoming projects. Youth can be an important part of community gapand emerging needs. Empowering youth and allowing them the opportunity to participatein the well-being of our community will surely show the development in their selfpersonality. Finally empowering youth to be engaged in our community will show decrease intraditional problem behaviors. Youth who are engaged in community are likely to developa good bonds in inner relationship and are less likely to develop an inter-caste relationship." When youth become engaged in community activitiesthey develop the skill needed to be an effective leader."Chandrashekar R. BelchadaPresidentThiya Samaj Mumbai7
