<strong>Nahi</strong> <strong>Baseline</strong> <strong>Survey</strong> April- May 2001with massive amount of timber being used. C<strong>on</strong>sidering the ground floor, most houseshave two stories while a few have three or more stories mostly with rooms rangingbetween four and eight or sometimes more. A careful c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong> of the quality,c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> and the time of c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> of some houses in this category may be necessarybefore <strong>on</strong>e c<strong>on</strong>clude them as better housing. The number of rooms reflected in theTable 2.2 are mainly based <strong>on</strong> the different partiti<strong>on</strong>s a single house has. Therefore, it islikely that some rooms in some houses may be a simple partiti<strong>on</strong> without windows orventilati<strong>on</strong>s unsuitable for use as living or bedrooms.From 93 houses the majority have plank roofings (76 houses) while about 11 houses havezinc sheet a few with bamboo and slate.
