<strong>The</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Iceland</strong> Emigration Center focuses on<br />
the emigration years 1870-1914 and the years<br />
after the Askja eruption 1875. We are interested<br />
in the history of this time and in renewing<br />
contact with the emigrants’ descendants. <strong>The</strong><br />
Centre is of great interest to all those interested<br />
in genealogy and tracing their roots.<br />
