Tourism<br />

• The number of farmers delivering nutmegs has more than<br />

doubled from 1000 to 2,500 and the volume of exports has<br />

more than tripled since 2008.<br />

• Cocoa production increased from 1 million pounds to 1.5<br />

million<br />

• Government invested $9.7 million in airlift bringing the total<br />

investment in airlift to $28.1 million since 2009. As a result<br />

there are more airlines serving <strong>Grenada</strong> than ever before<br />

• Government completed the National Tourism Strategic Plan<br />

Improving Health Care<br />

• Government entered into a ground breaking agreement with<br />

St. George’s University addressing fourteen areas of cooperation<br />

including the establishment of a clinical teaching<br />

programme and the development of a teaching hospital<br />

• 22,100 children benefitted from the National School-based<br />

Dental programme<br />

Providing Affordable Housing<br />

• 353 housing units were constructed through cooperation with<br />

the People’s Republic of China and will be distributed shortly<br />

Fast Tracking Youth Empowerment and Sports<br />

• 1400 youth were employed under the Youth Apprenticeship<br />

Programme<br />

• Youth Development Centre was completed and reopened<br />

• National Sports Policy was completed and passed the into<br />

law<br />
