of our heritage.<br />

The National Museum and the establishment of a National Art Gallery<br />

are priority areas in this regard as well as is the rejuvenation of our<br />

folk culture with quarterly folk concerts to be held beginning in April.<br />

The recording of folk songs, poetry and storytelling will be part of an<br />

intense archiving effort of our cultural artforms.<br />

A working protocol for filming in <strong>Grenada</strong> has been established and<br />

three significant filmings were facilitated last year. This year, we have<br />

already attracted interest as we endeavour to establish a film industry<br />

in <strong>Grenada</strong>.<br />

The Cultural Policy will be tabled in Parliament in the first half of<br />

this year.<br />

The <strong>Division</strong> of Culture will embark on a “Music for Transformation”<br />

initiative. Under this programme, music will be taught in some<br />

selected communities to poor and underprivileged children, along<br />

with other life skills thereby providing them with another alternative<br />

to live a full and rewarding life.<br />

6.20 PUBLIC SECTOR MODERNIZATION<br />

Government’s vision for the Public service is to serve <strong>Grenada</strong>, its citizens<br />

and residents in a professional, open, responsive and transparent<br />

manner. Accountability for its actions and performance remains an<br />

integral component of Government’s reform agenda.<br />

During 2012, Government’s reform initiatives will continue as we<br />

pursue the delivery of improved services to the citizens and residents.<br />

A new Lands Agency will be established amalgamating the Valuation<br />

<strong>Division</strong>, Deeds and Lands Registry, Physical Planning Unit and the<br />

Lands and Surveys <strong>Division</strong>. This new Agency will be e-enabled to<br />

deliver improved services to the people of <strong>Grenada</strong>. All the records<br />

at the Registry are being digitized, new maps of <strong>Grenada</strong> are being<br />

acquired, GIS technology is being introduced and the relevant laws<br />

are being updated to support the modernization process. When<br />
