pMa summer Ball 2015<br />
On Friday June 5th, the Polish Museum of America<br />
(PMA) celebrated its 35th Annual Summer Ball at<br />
Galleria Marchetti in Chicago. Over 160 Guests<br />
enjoyed cocktails, dinner and dancing with music<br />
provided by the Anthony Kawalkowski Orchestra.<br />
Guests were greeted by PMA representatives –<br />
President Richard Owsiany, Summer Ball Chair<br />
Virginia Cudecki, Managing Director Małgorzata Kot,<br />
and several other directors of the board, as everyone<br />
enjoyed the elegant affair over delicious food, great<br />
company and appreciated honor- with special<br />
awards going to Gift from the Heart Foundation and<br />
Shriners Hospitals for Children- both recipients of<br />
this year’s Polish Spirit Award. With warm regards,<br />
the Consul General of the Republic of Poland, Paulina<br />
Kapuścińska, shared her wishes in the development<br />
and purpose of the PMA, stressing the importance<br />
of the PMA in Chicago, particularly with its large<br />
Polish diaspora. Guests were also graced with the<br />
presence of a last minute speaker – Joanna Fabisiak<br />
– member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and<br />
chairman of the Commission on Liaisons with Poles<br />
Abroad. This year’s event also featured a generous<br />
raffle, silent auction and “wish list” of items attendees<br />
could sponsor to further assist the PMA in their<br />
daily mission to sustain and expand its library and<br />
precious archives.<br />
