2009<br />
Edward D. Thomas, Sr., of the law firm LewisWagner,<br />
LLP, was selected to the Indiana<br />
State Bar Association’s Leadership Development<br />
Academy. Thomas has also been<br />
named an “Up and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong>” by The<br />
Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong> in its 2015 Leadership in<br />
Law program.<br />
Jonathan W. Hughes, of the Indianapolisbased<br />
law firm Bose McKinney & Evans<br />
LLP has been named an “Up and Coming<br />
<strong>Lawyer</strong>” by The Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong> in its 2015<br />
Leadership in Law program.<br />
Lun Kham Pieper has been named to the<br />
Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, where<br />
she will serve as a deputy prosecutor with<br />
the Special Victim’s Team, Domestic Violence<br />
Department. She also will serve with<br />
the Community Prosecution Division as the<br />
Burmese Outreach Specialist.<br />
2010<br />
Emily A. Munson has been named an “Up<br />
and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong>” by The Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong><br />
in its 2015 Leadership in Law program.<br />
Matthew D. Neumann has been named an<br />
“Up and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong>” by The Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong><br />
in its 2015 Leadership in Law program.<br />
Michael B. Reichert has joined Wooden &<br />
McLaughlin, LLP’s real estate team and<br />
focuses his practice in the areas of real<br />
estate finance and development. He previously<br />
worked for the U.S. Department of<br />
Housing and Urban Development.<br />
2011<br />
Jennifer Bays Beinart, of Bays Family Law,<br />
was selected to the 2015 Indiana State<br />
Bar Association’s Leadership Development<br />
Academy. The LDA is a statewide<br />
leadership program established to empower<br />
and develop lawyers to be informed,<br />
committed and involved so that they may<br />
fill significant leadership roles in bar associations,<br />
local communities and organizations.<br />
Only 25 lawyers are selected.<br />
Roxana Bell, of the Indianapolis office<br />
of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, has<br />
been named an “Up and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong>”<br />
by The Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong> in its 2015 Leadership<br />
in Law program.<br />
Charles B. Daugherty, of McNeely Stephenson,<br />
Thopy & Harrold, was selected to the<br />
2015 Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership<br />
Development Academy. The LDA is a<br />
statewide leadership program established<br />
to empower and develop lawyers to be informed,<br />
committed and involved so that<br />
they may fill significant leadership roles in<br />
bar associations, local communities and<br />

Magdalena M. Karol has joined SunTrust<br />
Mortgage as Vice President of Servicing<br />
Compliance. Karol is primarily responsible<br />
for Dodd Frank servicing and default regulatory<br />
implementations<br />
Ryan K. Lighty has joined Morgan, Lewis<br />
and Bockius, LLP, as an associate in the<br />
firm’s Energy practice, resident in the<br />
Washington, D.C. office. He joins the firm<br />
from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s<br />
Office of General Counsel, and his<br />
practice focuses on energy litigation and<br />
nuclear regulation.<br />
Sara McClammer, a partner of Bennett<br />
& McClammer, was selected to the 2015<br />
Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership<br />
Development Academy. The LDA is a<br />

committed and involved so that<br />
they may fill significant leadership roles in<br />
bar associations, local communities and<br />

Matthew C. Piatt has joined Faegre Baker<br />
Daniels as an associate in the law firm’s<br />
tax advocacy group.<br />
Ahmed S. Young, second vice president at<br />
Bose Public Affairs Group and an associate<br />
at Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP, has been<br />
named to the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.<br />
He also was recently named an “Up<br />
and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong>” by The Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong><br />
in its 2015 Leadership in Law program.<br />
2012<br />
H. Ryan Altman has joined the Pikeville,<br />
Kentucky office of Pam May Law Firm,<br />
PLC. The firm specializes in healthcare law,<br />
medical malpractice defense, employment<br />
law, and insurance defense.<br />
Nicholas C. Dugan has joined Riley Bennett<br />
& Egloff, LLP, as an associate.<br />
Alfred Degrafinreid, II has recently accepted<br />
the position of Chief Deputy Criminal<br />
Court Clerk of Davidson County in Nashville,<br />
Tennessee. In his new role, Degrafinreid<br />
will assume the top staff position for<br />
Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk<br />
Howard Gentry.<br />
Angela B. Freeman, of Barnes & Thornburg,<br />
LLP, received the “Up and Coming <strong>Lawyer</strong><br />
2015” award for professional and legal<br />
achievements early in her practice by The<br />
Indiana <strong>Lawyer</strong>.<br />
Adam C. James opened his own law office in<br />
Shelbyville, Indiana that offers general law<br />
practice, including criminal law, DUI, divorce,<br />
guardianships, family law, and wills and estates.<br />
He was also awarded a public defender<br />
contract for Shelby County earlier this year,<br />
after two defenders took prosecutor jobs in<br />
Hancock County and Fayette County.<br />
2013<br />
John B. Bishop, an attorney with Cohen<br />
Garelick & Glazier, has been selected to<br />
serve on the Executive Committee of the<br />
Intellectual Property Section of the Indianapolis<br />
Bar Association. He was also<br />
elected by The Juvenile Diabetes Research<br />
Foundation (JDRF), Indiana State Chapter<br />
to be the president of the organization’s<br />
Young Leadership Committee.<br />
2014<br />
Jessica M. Dugdale has joined Taft Stettinius<br />
& Hollister, LLP, as an associate in Taft’s<br />
Private Client group.<br />
Charlotte Fillenwarth has joined Hall Render<br />
Killian Heath & Lyman, P.C.’s Indianapolis<br />
office. She practices in the area of<br />
labor and employment law with a focus on<br />
business immigration.<br />
William R. Gearhart, II has joined Bowers<br />
Harrison, LLP, as an associate attorney.<br />
Gearhart’s practice areas focus on immigration,<br />
litigation, criminal, and family law.<br />
Jessica A. Hockemeyer has joined Faegre<br />
Baker Daniels at the Fort Wayne Office as a<br />
member of the firm’s finance and restructuring<br />
practice.<br />
Derek B. Lavender has joined Taft Stettinius<br />
& Hollister, LLP, as an associate in the<br />
firm’s Intellectual Property group, focusing<br />
his practice on patent prosecution.<br />
Daniel Lewallen has joined Faegre Baker<br />
Daniels’ Indianapolis office as a member of<br />
the firm’s insurance team.<br />
R. Zac Karanovich has joined Hall Render<br />
Killian Heath & Lyman as an associate attorney<br />
at the firm’s Indianapolis office.<br />
Karanovich focuses his practice on taxexempt<br />
finance for 501(c)(3) entities and<br />
government issuers.<br />
Stephen R. Kitts, II has joined the Cass<br />
County Prosecutor’s Office. Previously, he<br />
lived in New York City, where he was a scholarship<br />
winner at Mannes College, the New<br />
School for Music while working as an opera<br />
singer. His Carnegie Hall debut was in 2003.<br />
Brittany Simmerman has joined Washburn<br />
University’s staff as assistant athletic director<br />
and senior women’s administrator.<br />
