EVANGELIZATION COMMISSION
Overview
The Evangelization Commission
welcomes and invites all members of our faith
community to participate more deeply in parish life.
As an advocate for the diverse needs of our
parishioners, the group supports the parish RCIA
program and organizes community-building
opportunities such as the New Parishioner
Welcome Night, docent-led tours of the Cathedral,
Sunday Coffee and Donuts, the Cathedral Mom’s
Club, the Christmas Tree Lighting and Caroling,
and Family Friendly Fridays. The Commission
publishes the new parishioner Welcome Guide and
this Yearbook, as well as a variety of other parish
publications. Want to become more
involved? Come and join the fun!
Cathedral Tours
Did you know? Our Cathedral is very
historic! There are fascinating stories connected to
almost every window, step, and alcove with
references to Biblical, Church, and even Maryland
history! A dedicated group of docents provides
approximately 20 one-hour guided tours
throughout the year, with focus on the architectural
and historical significance of the Cathedral. Be in
the know! To schedule a tour, simply contact the
parish office at 410-464-4000.
Do you enjoy history? New docents are
always welcome! Docents volunteer three to four
hours per year. It's helpful to have appreciation for
and knowledge of architecture and Church art and
history, but it's not necessary. New guides are
trained and given information cards for each
interest point of the Cathedral. For more
information or to become involved, please contact
Amanda Stepp through the parish office.
The Mom’s Group
The Mom’s Group has had an active year!
The group, consisting of moms from the Cathedral,
St. Pius X, and St. Thomas Aquinas parishes, is a
weekly playgroup for children and their moms from
birth to age five. In addition to enjoying play dates
at the churches and local parks, we organized craft
sessions, took trips to local libraries, and visited the
Train Garden at Kenilworth at Christmas time.
The group also planned holiday and other visits
throughout the year with the residents of Villa
Assumpta. New moms are always welcome to join
the fun! Simply contact Sherri Rachuba at the
parish center: srachuba@cmoq.org.
Msgr. Jarboe captivates our littlest parishioners!
