Sometimes, there is the language difficulty, but chanting in<br />
Pāli, chanting along with the monks, will not be too much for<br />
them. This is a successful and powerful method introduced by<br />
the Japanese, and now it is affecting the traditional <strong>Thai</strong> lay<br />
people in <strong>Thai</strong>land. Even the National Bureau of Buddhism<br />
wants to introduce this method. Why not do this in America,<br />
too, as a part of samatha practice? Do not think it is not a<br />
Buddhist methodology. It is Buddhist.<br />
Regarding the practice of meditation in Hinduism, one of<br />
the most popular teachers in India moved to Oregon. I mean<br />
Phra Bhagwan Rajneesh. He is very popular in India. So<br />
much so that he could not live in India because of the effect<br />
he had on the way of life of conservative people. Rajneesh<br />
